ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
Purpose: The purpose of the program; To train health technicians for the care, protection and treatment of the foot health of healthy and sick individuals with the diagnosis and referral of the specialist physician.
Vision: To train Podology Technicians who can practice their profession in the field of Podology technician with sufficient theoretical and practical knowledge. The program aims to provide the healthcare industry with the highest level of equipped podology technicians.
Mission: Throughout the two years of education, students will be given theoretical and practical lessons by experienced instructors in this field. In the Anatomy and Physiotherapy laboratory of our Vocational School of Health, intensive practical work will be done on the models.
Preventing and treating foot health problems, evaluating nail pathologies, calluses, preventing formations and treating them, performing nail prosthesis applications, bandages, bandages, toe pads and foot, by performing medical foot care in healthy individuals and diagnosing and directing the specialist physician. will receive the necessary training on issues such as the implementation of supports.
Students will acquire the required knowledge and skills within the team, in accordance with the laws and ethical rules, and to perform tasks that require professional responsibility.

Program Description: In the program of Podology Technician of the Vocational School of Health, American University of Cyprus, it is aimed to provide students with a level of education to compete with other universities in the national and international arena. The technological infrastructure and education and training opportunities of the department are organized in a way that will give students the knowledge and experience they need in their professional lives. The program is carried out by experienced podologists who have graduated from the Faculty of Health Sciences and have master or doctorate education on podology. The duration of the program is two years of education.
Admission and Registration Requirements: Within the framework of the regulations determined by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), student admission to this program is done through the examination system conducted by the Assessment Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). Student registration procedures are carried out within the framework of the principles set by the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). The Rector's Office announces the enrollment dates of the candidates who will register to the university each year, by determining the required documents and registration places according to the units. Registration procedures are carried out by the Registrar's Office. Final registration is not possible with missing documents or mail. If it is understood that it was registered by mistake, the records are deleted.
Graduation Requirements: In order to graduate from American University of Cyprus, Vocational School of Health, Podology Technician Associate Degree Program, the student must have completed all the courses in the program, provided a minimum of 82 national and 120 ECTS credits, and completed 30 working days internship.
Transition to Upper Level: Graduate students can transfer to Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Nursing and Nursing and Health Services undergraduate programs with Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS).
Employment Opportunities: Graduates from this program can work under the title of "Podology Technician" in public and private health institutions and organizations. They can work in foot health and walking companies, foot health centers, massage and spa centers.
