ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
Purpose: The training of auxiliary technical personnel needed in the pharmacy and pharmaceutical industry.
Vision: To train pharmacy technicians in the field of pharmacy technician who can apply their profession in the best way and have sufficient theoretical and practical knowledge. The program aims to provide the pharmacy technicians with the highest level of knowledge in the health sector.
Mission: Throughout the two years of education, students will be given theoretical and practical lessons by experienced instructors in this field.
Under the responsibility and supervision of pharmacists, students will receive the necessary training on these subjects such as regular record keeping, the use of books and technological application tools containing up-to-date information, and the provision, preservation and delivery of prescription or non-prescription medicines, cosmetics and healthcare products.
Students will acquire the required knowledge and skills within the team, in accordance with the laws and ethical rules, and to perform tasks that require professional responsibility.

Program Description: In the program of Pharmacy Technician of the Vocational School of Health, American University of Cyprus, it is aimed to provide students with a level of education to compete with other universities in the national and international arena. The technological infrastructure and education and training opportunities of the department are organized in a way that will give students the knowledge and experience they need in their professional lives. The program is carried out by the lecturers of American University of Cyprus Health Services Vocational School and with the contribution of lecturers from other units. The duration of the program is two years of education.
Admission and Registration Requirements: Within the framework of the regulations determined by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), student admission to this program is done through the examination system conducted by the Assessment Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). Student registration procedures are carried out within the framework of the principles set by the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). The Rector's Office announces the enrollment dates of the candidates who will register to the university each year, by determining the required documents and registration places according to the units. Registration procedures are carried out by the Registrar's Office. Final registration is not possible with missing documents or mail. If it is understood that it was registered by mistake, the records are deleted.
Graduation Requirements: In order to graduate from American University of Cyprus, Health Vocational School, Pharmacy Services Associate Degree Program, the student must have completed all the courses in the program, provided 120 ECTS credits and completed 30 working days internship.
Transition to Upper Level: Graduate students can transfer to Biochemistry, Chemistry and Chemical Engineering undergraduate program with Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS).
Employment Opportunities: Graduates from this program can work with the title of “Pharmacy Technician” in public and private health institutions and organizations. They can work in pharmacies, government offices with pharmacy departments, pharmaceutical factories, drug stores, laboratories and the medical sector. Pharmacy of appointment to public bodies and institutions in Turkey technicians Public Personnel Selection Examination (KPSS) according to, if the TRNC Public Service who are successful in the examination which the Commission opened appointed to public health institutions.
